F U Captain Planet! When all of Esoteric's powers combine... Twilight Council dies!

-
Hi Everyone!
I have a few announcements for you all!
First, I want to give a warm welcome to our new guild members--Moskau, Pentchev, Spooks, Spoyld, and Utumno. We're glad to have you all on board! And welcome back to Preach..aka Chucksteak!
Secondly, we've been talking a lot about DKP, alt raids, and so on a lot lately. So here's to clarify some of it.
"Why are we using DKP now?" It's a good way to track attendance. Loot council is fine, but can seem unfair and personal even in an environment where we're all friends. Our philosophy is that loot will come, it's a reason to keep raiding and keep showing up (when you can). Most all loot will resort in a transaction being logged (points being spent), but there are exceptions and we'll deal with them as we get to them. This is new to us and nothing is ever set in stone. As things change, we adapt. And while we each want to progress individually, we must always do what progresses the guild as a whole first.
"How do I get DKP then? What if I'm asked to sit out?" Showing up gets you dkp. Sitting out gets you dkp. We feel if you wanna make the effort to show up even with the chance you may have to sit out b/c you love your guildies that much...you deserve points too. If you show up late and are on standby, we give you half the value of a raid.
The only rule to this is that you must be on the Calendar sign up or have otherwise expressed "hey i'm showing up for the raid on XXXX".
Third, we were discussing an alt raid for weekends...but that may actually now become a mostly main raid using some of our alts as fillers. We've scheduled a run for the evening of Sunday, March 20. From there we'll decide more officially what happens. While multiple 10's are something we've done in the past of Esoteric, for this iteration of the guild it is new. We want to use what we've learned to make this work out with as little confusion and stress as possible. That said, I know the schedules of most of you guys, but for administrative purposes it'd be great if you could PM some confirmation of your preferences. What I'd like to do is have at least 80% of each team with a confirmed roster. This gives our raids on all nights a more probable chance of going and makes room for flexing people in and out as needed based on RL commitments and such. This helps us set up raids, it helps you plan for your RL, and it helps us all get purples so we can be better people and have more fun punching harder bosses in the face.
Lastly, if you haven't been confirmed on the site (yes I know what a pain it is...blame RATHMUS) let's work towards getting everyone set up on here this week and finalize this so I don't have to start bugging you all individually about it. =) Also, at some point I'll be adjusting the guild ranks so that our raid tracking mods are more accurate. Sometimes mine adds lowbie alts!
Cya in game!
